The Alpha All Stars Band created the perfect musical ambience for specially invited guests at the Europe Day reception hosted by the Head of the EU Delegation to Jamaica, Ambassador Paola Amadei, at the Strathmore Great House on Thursday, May 7.

In her address, Ambassador Amadei told her guests that she was thrilled to be celebrating the European Union's (EU) 40-year partnership with Jamaica, and highlighted some of the many projects the EU has undertaken over the years. One such venture is the EU's largest investment in Jamaica to date - the ACP (African Caribbean and Pacific Countries) Economic Partnership Agreement.

Ending with words of inspiration, the ambassador spoke passionately of strengthened friendship with Jamaica and her great expectations for the future. "As they say, life begins at 40, so the best is yet to come, cheers!"

Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Senator A.J. Nicholson shared how grateful Jamaica was to the EU for the 40 years of devoted cooperation and expressed a deep appreciation to all the institutions that have partnered with the nation over the years. Closing with a toast to continued peace and prosperity to all the governments of the EU, he said 'cheers' in their various languages.
