Enjoying Jamaica's fine cuisine

A great house washed in red, blue, purple and green, with touches of gold, greeted patrons on Saturday, August 19, symbolising an unforgettable night.
The imposing, historic Rose Hall Great House in St James was the venue, and the event planners were the key stakeholders of the Montego Bay chapter of the Jamaica Hotel and Tourist Association (JHTA).
It was a good night of food and wine pairing, music and networking, at the biggest ever 'Jamaican Fine Cuisines' event. More than 500 persons gathered on the lawns at the renowned attraction operated by Rose Hall Developments.
President of the JHTA, Omar Robinson, was in his element as was his area chapter chair, Robert Headley. The two, and their team, which included the affable Nadine Spence, Tamika 'Ahh Ras Natango' Williams, Doris Morgan, Mary Chambers, Marina Delfos, Claudeth James and Delwin Rochester, succeeded in making thousands of dollars for charity.
"We will net about $1 million this year," said Robinson two days after the event, which will provide well-needed funds for the Montego Bay Learning Centre; House No. 10 at the SOS Children's Village; and GSAT students in need.
Partners RIU, Tryall Club, Goddard Catering, Holiday Inn, Grand Palladium, Secrets Resorts, Hilton Rose Hall, Round Hill and Half Moon, provided the succulent food, while Appleton Estate, Caribbean Producers Jamaica, Wisynco and Pure Country satiated the appetite.
Other sponsors included Tai Flora, Reggae Tech, Triple Glar, John Swaby, Royalton, JAMWEST and Crazy Jim.
