WESTERN BUREAU:

The hand-delivered invitations appeared in a long sleek blue box with red lining, and you had to be an influencer to make it on to the A-list.

All-White was the dress-code, and you wanted to adhere to it because with 'Eyes Wide Shut', one never wanted those eyes to be opened and you be caught wearing anything else.

On Friday, October 27, OceanStyle opened up the poolside, lounge and bar area of the fabulous Hard Rock Cafe in Montego Freeport for the staging of night one of the OceanStyle Weekend.

But at 4 that afternoon, the skies opened up and rain pelted the seaside town, threatening to derail the party. However, it soon closed its eyes and Jamaicans who love to party donned their best outfits and invaded the less-than-one-year-old attraction.

Hard Rock was on fire from the lyrical sounds of Crazy Neil and ZJ Sparks. In fact, Hard Rock melted into the arms of great music, good vibes and camaraderie.

It was a night of top-shelf champagne, branded liquor and beautiful people who did not stop dancing. With hardly anything missing, this was the precursor to Saturday's dinner and fashion show at Secrets Resorts.

Douglas Gordon and his OceanStyle team continues to set the pace in entertainment in Montego Bay, and if he gets his way, there will be something exciting on the events calendar every month.
