Shannen Clarke, owner of Diaper Cakes Ja, is bursting with creativity and is spreading her imagination through baby essentials.

With a knack for entrepreneurship, Clarke, has been seeking her slice of the pie for a long time and believes that she is now devouring it through her unique baby-shower gift company.

The six-month-old entity, grew out of her desire for a job after returning to Jamaica from the United States last year, while she was pregnant.

"I had the idea for a while, but I did act upon it. But when I returned, I decided to start making the pieces as a hobby. Two weeks into it, I got a call from a customer wanting to purchase one of the creations and my business took off from that," an enthusiastic Clarke explained.

Operating through a virtual platform, the ingenious soul, skilfully produces works of art that match the needs and budgets of her clients. She highlighted the unusual compositions are made to reflect the joy she feels when adding each component to complete the perfect gift.

"I allow persons to tell me what they want, although in the end, they will get something much better. I always tweak the requests and add my touch to it, because I can't make something that I wouldn't like for myself," she said.

Diaper Cakes Ja, is an expression of Clarke's passion. Driven by an urge to brighten smiles and create happiness, Clarke becomes consumed with strong and barely controllable emotions each time she is tasked to construct one of her masterpieces.

HOPING FOR EXPANSION

Clarke's creations are made of baby products - mainly diapers, brushes, comb sets, and bath items - and are made to order. The pieces take on a number of shapes, from a three-tier cake, gorgeous ship, beautifully decorated tricycle or bicycle, eye-catching centerpieces, and many more designs.

In light of the accomplishments and versatility that her venture affords her, the young entrepreneur endeavours to expand her services soon. Setting up a physical location is just one of her ultimate goals. The other is to weave Valentines Day, birthdays, and holiday presents with edible treats.

"Currently, I'm already exploring different areas. For example, I make 'feel-good' arrangements for fathers. That, too, is customised, but I want daddies to feel appreciated, because often times they are forgotten when a baby is on the way," Clarke said.
