BL Williams celebrates 90 years!

BL Williams celebrates 90 years!

Employees and guests celebrated with BL Williams International on the occasion of its 90th anniversary celebration on Saturday, December 6, at the Royal Jamaica Yacht Club.

Ted Muschett, chairman of the company, said that the anniversary was a formidable milestone and that he was anticipating the celebration of their 100th anniversary.

He thanked the founders and forefathers - Bertam Leopold Williams, Norman and Andrew Barham, Peter Morecroft, and Ed and Neville Muschett.

"They charted the course for setting the high standards and core values that are upheld at B.L. Williams to this very day. These standards have helped us grow and have instilled honesty and integrity in our way of doing business," Muschett said.

He attributed the company's 90-year existence to the impeccable service employees provide to the company's valued customers. "Their professionalism and diplomacy goes a long way in making B.L. Williams the best in the business," Muschett said.

The event saw B.L. Williams recognising 17 long-serving members of staff: Errol Bascoe - 12 years; David Brown - 38 years; Leslie Samuels - 23 years; Ralston Taylor - 14 years; Melford Wynter - 26 years; Glenroy Valentine - 20 years; Trevor Ennis - 15 years; Ludlow Lindo - 16 years; Warefield Rose - 12 years; Leslie Reid - 10 years; Raymond Marsh - 18 years; Raymond Richards - 20 years; Annmarie Henry - 27 years; Arleen Sewell - 19 years; Sheila Whyte - 18 years; Deborah Depass - 10 years; and Christopher Setal - 11 years.

Muschett described Sewell as "the backbone at B.L. Williams International Ltd for always going above and beyond no matter how challenging the circumstances."

Special mention was also made of Andrew Barham, a grandnephew of one of the founding fathers of the company, and Aston Lauder, who retired after 53 years.

Muschett said a special thank you to his immediate family, his wife, and mother and father for their support over the years.
