Jamaica Freight & Shipping commemorates COSCO Beijing’s inaugural call to Kingston

To commemorateCOSCO Beijing’s inaugural call to the port of Kingston, a team from shipping agents Jamaica Freight & Shipping Co Ltd joined the captain and his crew for a small ceremony. Anna Hamilton, marketing manager of Jamaica Freight & Shipping Company Ltd , and Dane McDonald, logistics officer at Jamaica Freight & Shipping Company Ltd presented Captain Evangelos Benetos with a plaque. Jamaica Freight & Shipping Co Ltd became the exclusive agent in Jamaica in September 2016 for China COSCO Shipping Lines Inc, one of China’s largest carriers.

In December 2015, COSCO Shipping Lines Inc was born out of a merger between China COSCO Holdings Co Ltd and China Shipping Container Lines. Jamaica Freight & Shipping has served as the Jamaican agent for China Shipping for more than 17 years. As exclusive agents for COSCO, Jamaica Freight & Shipping Co Ltd’s customers benefit from larger vessel capacity and more weekly services as well as services to and from various ports in Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Cuba, Colombia, Panama and the US East Coast.

COSCO Beijing is a container ship from Greece which was built in 2006 and has a maximum TEU capacity of 9469.
