Commencing November 1, 2019, the Jamaica Single Window for Trade (JSWiFT) will be introduced, to clients of the Trade Board Limited (TBL). Initially, clients will be encouraged to complete the user registration process. This is the first step in granting clients access for further use of the JSWIFT services.

The new online portal is being developed to provide access to services in support of cross-border trade in Jamaica.

The JSWiFT will allow traders or their brokers to request licences, permits, certificates and other documents through a single transactional point to fulfil import or export-related regulatory requirements. The system is expected to improve collaboration among Jamaica Customs Agency (JCA), border regulatory agencies (BRAs), and the trading community. It is also expected to reduce non-tariff barriers, simplify trading procedures, and reduce costs and time for doing business in Jamaica. The services facilitated through this portal will be administered by various BRAs and participating government agencies and are being introduced on a phased basis. Eventually it is expected that all trade related licences, permits, certificates and other such documents will be accessible through the portal.

User registration

TBL clients who currently submit applications through the Trade Board Information System, in addition to those who access other TBL services manually, are being urged to commence the user registration process in JSWIFT.

It is highly anticipated that the majority of TBL services will reside within the JSWiFT portal by the end of the 2019 calendar year.

JSWiFT allows users access via any reliable web browser such as Chrome, Firefox, Safari any version of Internet Explorer, using any Internet-enabled device. They can be accessed for registration at https://www.jswift.gov.jm/home. Additionally, the JSWiFT’s client support teams are available by email at support@jswift.gov.jm or info@jswift.gov.jm.

The services provided will support the uploading of the required supporting documents, access to electronic payment services, tracking of their transactions and receival of real-time notifications.

JSWIFT is a Government of Jamaica initiative with technical support being provided by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development. The JCA is charged with the implementation of JSWIFT.
