Health measures were observed at the presentation as (from left) Simone Pearson, group general counsel/company secretary, Jamaica Producers Group, Michael Leslie, financial manager, Jamaica Cancer Society, Corah-Ann Robertson-Sylvester, chief executive officer, Seaboard Jamaica, Earl Jarrett, chairman & executive director, Jamaica Cancer Society, Coreen Williams, director of Sales & Marketing, Seaboard Jamaica and Jeffrey Hall, group CEO, Jamaica Producers Group exchange pleasantries following the handover of a 20’ container donated by Jamaica Producers Group and Seaboard Jamaica to assist with the good work of the Jamaica Cancer Society.

The members of Jamaica’s shipping community have a long history of active involvement in, and collaboration with, organisations and institutions that provide for the well-being of fellow Jamaicans.

One recent example of such community outreach was the handover of a 20-foot container to the Jamaica Cancer Society by the Jamaica Producers Group and Seaboard Jamaica. In accepting the gift, Earl Jarrett, chairman and executive director of the Society, expressed heartfelt appreciation, noting that the donation would be a big help in assisting with the administrative needs of the organisation.

Over the years, thousands of Jamaicans have benefited from contributions of time, talent, and treasure from the maritime fraternity in the areas of education, health, sports, and community development. Not a week passes without a member of Jamaica’s shipping community giving some form of assistance to persons and organisations that are worthy of support.
