SAJE Property Services Limited (SPSL), one of Jamaica’s youngest and fast-growing real estate and property management companies, is drawing on the power of world-class experience and skills in brokering to build its brand. The dynamic group of professionals that comprise the SPSL team includes the company’s drector of sales, Marcelle Dawkins, who has more than 20 years of experience that includes estate management, valuations and estate agency brokerage with RE/MAX Elite, the agency of world renown.

Dawkins earned the Bachelor of Science degree in land economics and valuation surveying from the University of Technology, Jamaica and is currently completing postgraduate studies in real estate investment and finance at Heriot Watt University Scotland, UK. He reveals that “the broker holds the fiduciary responsibility of the real estate firm; overseeing all contracts and real estate transactions”. In Jamaica, the role of the broker is multifaceted and Dawkins explains that “the broker interfaces with regulatory bodies like the Real Estate Board of Jamaica; interacts with buyers and sellers of real estate; and interacts with professionals, like attorneys, to complete the conveyance process.” He adds that, as in his case, the broker also maintains a customer database.

The SPSL director of sales identifies the need for smoother collaboration among players in the real estate sector. He says, “Collaboration with realtors from other firms can be problematic if the proper policies and procedures aren’t followed. This is where ethnics play a vital role in how professionals interact.” In this environment, Dawkins draws upon his past experience in estate management as senior estate officer with La Maison Property Services, as valuator with David Thwaites & Associates, and as broker associate with RE/MAX Elite, where he was responsible for executing sales and rental of commercial and residential properties valued at over $1 billion.

Dawkins wants SPSL “to become a household name in Jamaican real estate, with ethics and corporate responsibility being the main driving force”. He says, “The SPSL team, led by Chairman Dr Robert Kinlocke, is a dedicated and hard-working group of professionals who are making this happen through a commitment to drive sales and reach out to new customers, while constantly maintaining our integrity.”

SAJE Property Services Limited is a real estate subsidiary of SAJE Logistics Infrastructure Limited, a property and investment company with roots in the shipping and logistics industry. Kim Clarke is chairman of the SAJE Group of Companies and Trevor Riley is Group CEO.
