Intellect your style
WESTERN BUREAU:
The staff at the Hyatt Ziva and Zilara in Rose Hall, Montego Bay, recently showcased what they have in an event tagged 'Intellect Your Style'. Using a rich combination of intellect and fashion, the resort's entertainment team transformed the hotel's ballroom into a wonderland, tying in the metamorphosis of the butterfly.
The decor depicted this evolution from an egg, to larva, pupa and adulthood and performances by both Hah-R-Mony Entertainment and the resort's own playmakers, in modern jazz and tango, were thrilling.
"The event was geared towards our experimental approach to education in making Jamaica a better place. We are focusing on education and its impact on our people," said Dedra Brown, training and quality manager at the resort.
The purpose of the glitzy celebratory event was to showcase the influence of education on the resort's 'Granville 404' project, at Granville All-Age School in St James.
Four hundred and four students were at the institution when the hotel started the project a year and a half ago. "The project encompasses five dimensions a farm-to-table programme, education, environment, sports and a library," explained Betty-Ann Brown, director of human resources.
Strutting their stuff on stage, while dressed in their finest garbs, 205 members of the Hyatt team proved that it was possible for the hotel to look from within for any senior position that may become available. All members are enrolled in some form of programme to become more qualified not only for higher positions at the hotel, but anywhere in Jamaica.
Intellect Your Style is an exclusive event geared towards accelerating the innovation, productivity and growth of the Hyatt Ziva and Zilara employees, even while celebrating their intellectual achievements and zest to excel.
