Over 600 'Life Guardians' representatives of Guardian Life Limited and their partnering brokerage companies travelled into Kingston from across the island to attend a New Year 'Blast Off' and motivational session hosted by Guardian Life Limited at the Jamaica Conference Centre recently.

The event, which is the first on a list of activities planned to celebrate the organisation's 20th anniversary, is a session held at the beginning of each year to review the previous year and set a positive theme for the year ahead.

Highlights of the 'Blast Off' were the impactful and entertaining presentations given by motivational speaker/founder and chairman of Think Grow Lead, Duane Lue-Fung, and popular reggae artiste Romain Virgo.

Lue-Fung encouraged the Life Guardians to change the way they feel in order to better achieve their goals. He shared that sensation preceded manifestation and, as such, Guardian Life representatives should adopt positive feelings in order to achieve success.

"This year, it's all about feeling good, because when you feel good, you're more confident, which means you look like you're ready to go out there and conquer the world," he said

MC Jennifer Jenny Jenny Small kept the audience in high spirits by giving away prizes throughout the day and engaging the Life Guardians in exciting activities, such as a dance competition with Dance Xpressionz. There was a 'Wheel of Fortune' segment and the official launch of Guardian's new corporate campaign, 'Easy Nuh'.

The Guardian Life employees were also asked to repeat the word 'billion' to dispel the negative relationship many persons have with money due to discomfort and perceived impoliteness.

Virgo serenaded the audience with chart-topping singles such as In This Together, Fade Away, Wanna Go Home, Leave People Business and his cover of Adele's Don't You Remember.

Glendon Gordon, vice-president of individual life sales, Guardian Life Limited, commended the team on meeting the financial targets and introduced an incentive programme to reward employees for their hard work.
