Tuesday Talk

1. Another politician’s wife has grabbed the children and took off. It would be interesting to tally how many wives of serving politicians and their children are safely tucked away in other countries, leaving behind this tough, corrupt country.

2. Some people are asking whether the Electoral Commission of Jamaica, once held up as the model for all to emulate, has lost its mojo – the commissioners are well paid, but are they really worth it?

3. What has become of Contractor General Dirk Harrison? This question has been asked repeatedly, so perhaps it’s time for him to let the country know that he is still around. After all, the man he succeeded, Greg Christie, continues to comment on matters of public interest from time to time – but not a squeak from Mr Harrison.
