Sunday, May 10 was celebrated as Mother’s Day in most parts of the world, and mothers all over were being showered with gifts and love from their children and loved ones as a show of gratitude for all that they do as moms. Many of the usual Mother’s Day rituals, which would have included dining out, a trip to a hotel or the spa, would have been shelved for the most part due to the current COVID-19 pandemic affecting countries all over the world. Sagicor Group Jamaica found a novel way to surprise three mothers – all moms of Sagicor clients – with special Mother’s Day gifts delivered to them at home. In order to observe the social-distancing protocols in place to help in mitigating against the spread of COVID-19, the gifts were delivered to the moms using a drone. With their children in on the surprise, the moms were in for a treat, (after getting over the excitement of the drone, of course) receiving jewellery gift sets, courtesy of Tesori Brands Limited (jewellery store in Ironshore, Montego Bay), spa gift certificate and beautiful orchid plants.
