On Monday, January 11, the Sagicor Foundation took centerstage with the announcement of the 23rd staging of the Sagicor Sigma Corporate Run during a launch ceremony, streamed live from The Jamaica Pegasus hotel, on the company’s social media platforms. The occasion was used to highlight the features of the primarily virtual execution of the run, announce the Sigma Run Invitational, and introduce the Sigma Run patron, Jamaican track athlete Briana Williams. With a $50-million fundraising goal, Sigma Run 2021 is looking to procure much-needed medical equipment for the paediatric and maternity wards of the Annotto Bay and Port Antonio hospitals, as well as to develop a one-year educational programme for students impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
