Humble Lion in driver's seat

Two of the three remaining questions in the Red Stripe Premier League will be answered today on this the final day of regular season. Fans will find out the identity of the fourth team to advance to the play-offs, and the team to join Barbican on the way down.

In pole position to join the already qualified Arnett Gardens, Waterhouse and Montego Bay United are the Donovan Duckie-coached Humble Lion. The Clarendon-based team can secure their fate with a win over Cavalier at the Effortville Community Centre.

Today's opponents, Cavalier, are a competitive bunch, but with so much on the line for Humble Lion and with Cavalier not having a chance of making it to the top four, almost all bets will be on a Humble Lion win.

Harbour View are also in with a chance, but Arnett Gardens will not be easy opponents. With the distinction of being the first team to qualify, Arnett Gardens has a very competitive unit, with most of the players fighting to impress coach Jerome Waite in order to feature in the play-off games.

Besides the Humble Lion game, the ones generating most interest are the Tivoli Gardens/Sporting Central matchup and the Reno/Montego Bay United clash. Pride and a bigger share of the purse money are the only things on the line for Tivoli Gardens this week when they host Sporting Central.
