Bring Back the Love football to honour Kerlyn Brown

CVM TV news presenter and Inspire Jamaica host Kerlyn Brown will be the honouree at this year's staging of the 'Bring Back the Love after Labour' football match, scheduled for Barbican Sports Complex this Labour Day (Monday), starting at 5 p.m.

Bring Back the Love chief organiser Clive 'Busy' Campbell says he is a regular viewer and big admirer of Brown's show.

Campbell said after watching her Inspire Jamaica programme on Sunday, it touched his heart and he felt the need to recognise her for the assistance she gives the Jamaican people, especially kids.

"I believe she is someone who inspires Jamaica with the help and the assistance she gives to people and kids. On Sunday when I saw her, I realised that this lady, I really have a lot of respect for her and she should be honoured at Bring Back the Love and I believe this will have a great effect," Campbell told The Gleaner at Tuesday's launch at Cuddy'z.

Entertainers Invitational

Meanwhile, an Entertainers Invitational will take on a Masters and Celebrity team in the main attraction at the annual event, which started in 1996.

The Entertainers side will include the likes of Agent Sasco, Nomadz, Nesbeth, Jesse Royal, Aidonia, Luki D, Tony Curtis and Wickerman, while Masters and Celebrities will boast players like Oneil 'Bigga' Smith, Rudolph Speid, Audley Boyd, Jah Mikes, Lenworth 'Teacher' Hyde, Carlo Redwood, Ralston Hyman and Andrew 'Bower' Hines.

As usual, there is a charitable side to the Masters & Celebrities Inc event. Last year, two schools from Franklyn Town benefited through the proceeds of the event, and although this year's beneficiaries are yet to be identified, Campbell says three other schools will again receive donations.

"There are so many schools on the list, so I am waiting to make the decision. I have acquired two computers already and I want to make it (handover) a grand thing, so at that time we can know which of these three schools it will be," he said.
