Western Bureau:

Two epic derbies will highlight today's slate of matches in the ISSA/FLOW daCosta Cup competition, which resumes with 40 matches scheduled across all 15 zones.

St Elizabeth Technical (STETHS) will host Munro College in what is expected to be an epic St Elizabeth derby encounter, with kick-off set for

6 p.m. This will be the first clash between the neighbours which will be played under the recently installed lights at the STETHS Sports Complex.

The first encounter between the two teams, which was played at Munro College, ended with a nil-all scoreline. However, since then, Munro have won all of their games and will arrive at STETHS with assurance.

Coach Hopeton Gilchrist believes the strong rivalry will make this game a hard one to call, but he is hoping his team can deliver the three points.

"It's a derby that can go any way, but we are definitely going there to win and play some good football," Gilchrist said.

"We will be looking to have a go at their goal a bit more. The first encounter, we could have won the game had we taken our chances. We are about creating the chances again and capitalising on them," Gilchrist added before pointing to what he considers his biggest weapon.

"Oneko Allen is our leading goalscorer, who is up for it, so they (STETHS) will definitely have to catch him. I think playing at STETHS, we will be playing more of an open game as their field is a bit bigger, and I think if he (Allen) gets a bit of room, he will be on the scoresheet."

STETHS are undefeated in the competition so far and will be looking to extend their one-point lead over today's visitors with a win in front of what is sure to be a massive support.

NOT WORRIED

Coach Omar 'Rambo' Wedderburn is not worried about his opponents or the result of their first-leg encounter, but has his eyes set on another victory.

"It doesn't really matter who the opponent is. Three points is what we are going for," Wedderburn said bluntly.

The 3:30 p.m. Montego Bay derby between Zone A rivals St James High and defending champions Cornwall College, the top two teams in the zone, at Jarrett Park, will also command significant interest.

Both teams will be looking to break the deadlock as they are matched on 12 points each, with St James High getting the edge on goal difference. The last time the two met two weeks ago, Cornwall College defeated St James High 2-1 at the Montego Bay Sports Complex.
