New national indoor 400m record for Bloomfield

FORMER Kingston College 400 metres runner, Akeem Bloomfield, continued his great form indoors this season, when he clocked a national indoor record 44.86 seconds on Saturday at the NCAA Indoor Championships. The previous mark, 45.02, was also set by Bloomfield.
The University of Auburn sophomore placed second in the event won by American Michael Norman of the University of Southern California in a world record 44.52.
Bloomfield's teammate, Nathon Allen, ended fifth in 45.27.
