Coach Phillip Service is hopeful that title-seeking Jamaica will produce their best game yet and defeat front-runners Guyana in the penultimate round of the Cricket West Indies Under-15 Championship at Port Esquivel today.

Jamaica will enter the contest with a record of two wins and a loss, while Guyana has three wins from as many matches in the six-team round-robin championship.

"If we are going to seriously challenge for the trophy we will have to play our best game yet against Guyana," said Service.

"We has done fairly well so far, with the loss to Barbados in our last match a bit of a let down.

"But, we know what we are capable of, and once we can improve in areas such as our ground fielding, we can come out victorious."

Jamaica, whose victories were against Trinidad and Tobago (T&T) and the Leeward Islands, will again be hoping for the standout pair of captain Sanjay Walker and batting all-rounder Jordan Johnson to lead the way.

One of the championship's leading runs scorers, Walker, has so far notched innings-high scores of 51, 49 and 64 not out.

Johnson, in the meantime, who bowls leg-spin, has a team-high 10 wickets, along with fellow spinners Alex Hinds and Javon Nembhard, will be looking to spearhead the hosts' bowling.

"The hope is for other players, who have not really stepped up so far to do so in this game," expressed Service.

"We have been getting starts from our opener Johnson, but he has yet to push on to a big score, as is the case of top order batsman Nembhard.

"We want these players and others to step up and show their worth."

The other matches in the round will see T&T going up against the Windward Islands at Chedwin Park, and Barbados taking on the Leeward Islands at Windalco.
