Melbourne CC and University of The West Indies (UWI) have the upper hand over St Catherine and Manchester respectively, heading into the today's final day of their two-day Jamaica Cricket Association Senior Cup semi-finals.

Spearheaded by a haul of six for 25 from West Indies 'A' leg-spinner Damion Jacobs, Melbourne dismissed St Catherine for 146 in their first innings at Chedwin Park.
Sidelined national off-spin all-rounder Yannick Elliott was also among the wickets. He took two for 20.

Leading the batting for St Catherine was national one-day opener Kennar Lewis who hit 58 and Gavin Wallace, 29.

Melbourne closed the day on a commanding 250 for three. Out-of-favour West Indies batsman Assad Fudadin is unbeaten on 97, while former national youth batsman and recent St Kitts and Nevis Patriots recruit, Javell Glenn, scored 86. The other not out batsman is Jon-Ross Campbell, 11.

At Manchester High, a combination of a damp outfield and stoppages for bad light have resulted in that encounter being virtually reduced to a one innings affair.

The UWI, who won the toss and elected to bat after play got under way at 12:45 p.m., closed on 120 without loss.

Leading the way for the Robert Samuels-conditioned unit is West Indies wicketkeeper Chadwick Walton, not out 51, and former Jamaica youth player, Leonardo Friginette, is on 50.
