Jourdain Fletcher recovering after car crash

Former Cornwall College standout striker Jourdain Fletcher is said to be recovering in hospital after being involved in a car crash in Negril, Westmoreland, yesterday.
According to Jamaica senior men's football team manager, Roy Simpson, he spoke with Fletcher's former Cornwall College teammate Peter-Lee Vassell, who visited the player yesterday morning, and he reported that Fletcher was in good condition and was only suffering from minor scrapes and bruises, and an injured wrist.
He was also said to be wearing a neck brace as a precaution and was being kept overnight for observations.
Meanwhile, there was some confusion as to the condition of the Montego Bay United player, with early reports incorrectly indicating that he was involved in an accident in Hopewell, Hanover, which took place on Sunday night, claiming the lives of five individuals.
Fletcher was reportedly initially taken to the Savanna-la-Mar Public General Hospital before being transferred
to the Cornwall Regional Hospital, where he was admitted and a CT scan done. He was said to be in and out of consciousness and showing signs of a concussion.
Montego Bay United administrator Sandra Christie confirmed that Fletcher was involved in an accident and that he was receiving treatment.
"I haven't received any updates, except that he was not in the major accident (Hopewell). Apparently, there was more than one accident. People say he was in the one where the five people died, but I have been advised that that is not so," she said.
Fletcher was travelling with four passengers, one of whom was also hospitalised, when the vehicle crashed.
