NJ willing to look past Henry - Lewis

Netball Jamaica (NJ) Director Wayne Lewis says they will be exploring all possible avenues to have Sasher-Gaye Henry return as head coach, but warned that the board is not ruling out the possibility of closing the chapter and moving on.
Henry resigned recently, citing family responsibilities and administrative weaknesses in the association. Netball Jamaica, however, has refused to accept the resignation and has set a meeting.
"A lot of fingers have been pointed at Netball Jamaica ... so we are open to dialogue. We are open to talking to her (Henry), and if something can be worked out where she comes back into the programme, then we are willing to do that.
"If she is not willing to do that, then we are also willing to go in a different direction, but we want to give her all the opportunities to come back before we go that route," Lewis said.
He revealed that NJ President Dr Paula Daley-Morris was very keen on having the former Sunshine Girl as head coach, but he insists it's a decision for the board.
"It's not her (the president's) decision. It's up to the board. The president can always state her views, ... but it's up to the board to say yea or nay. It's a democratic process, and in this situation, most of us are on the same page in regards to coaching the team, because we want it to settle down.
"The board can take a decision right now ... [to] move in a different direction, start interviewing people, appoint a new coach and move forward. They can take that route. But we are of the view that if something can work out, then we will be willing to work it out, but if we can't, we will make a decision and move forward," he insisted.
