Brazil's Neymar reacts after missing a chance to score during the group E match between Brazil and Costa Rica at the 2018 World Cup in the St. Petersburg Stadium in St. Petersburg, Russia, yesterday. Brazil won 2-0.

Brazil's Neymar went to Instagram to explain why he burst into tears after helping his country to a 2-0 win over Costa Rica yesterday.

The 26 tear-old PSG striker scored late for Brazil after Philippe Coutinho had broken the deadlock in added time to give Brazil the full points against the determined Central Americans.

Neymar was seen crying after the game and world's most expensive player took to social media to explain his emotions.

Neymar's Instagram post reads: "Not everyone knows what I went through to get here. Even parrots can talk, but walking the walk, not everyone does it. I cried out of happiness, overcoming, grit and desire to win.

"In my life things have never been easy, why would they be now?

"The dream lives on... dream... no, goal. Well done for the game, guys. You're the best."

Brazil take on Serbia on June 27, in what is their final Group E game.

Neymar picked up a metatarsal injury with PSG in February that essentially ruled him out of competitive action until the summer.
