Holder confident Windies will complete series win

Windies captain Jason Holder addresses the media at Sabina Park yesterday ahead of today's start of the second Test against Bangladesh.

West Indies captain Jason Holder says the regional side is focused on winning their two-Test series against Bangladesh when both sides clash in the second and final match at Sabina Park today.

The West Indies lead the series 1-0 after their massive innings and 219 runs win inside three-days at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua and Barbuda last week.

Holder said the Caribbean team have been moving from strength to strength and he is very confident that they can clinch series.

"I think we are heading in the right director in terms of Test cricket," said Holder.

"We are competitive in a lot more series and we are winning a lot more matches and so it is about clinching the series now," he said.

He added that despite their massive victory in the first Test, they are not going to be taking their opponents lightly.

"I definitely believe that Bangladesh will come hard at us because based on what happened in the last Test match, it is not something that they are accustomed to and so I expect them to come pumped and ready to beat us," he said.

Pacer Kemar Roach, who picked up five for eight in the first innings of the first Test match, is set to miss today's match because of a hamstring injury. He will be replaced in the team by either Alzarri Joseph or Keemo Paul.

"Kemar is obviously a big loss because he has been doing well especially with the new ball and also coming back and getting wickets," Holder said.

"He got five wickets the last time he ran in bowled for us, but we have got more than able replacements in the squad," he said.

I think Keemo Paul is more than a replacement and then you got Alzarri Joseph and so we have options, but will we see what happens tomorrow morning," Holder reasoned.
