Unstoppable Briana Williams cruises to gold

Jamaica's Briana Williams upstaged the United States' Twanisha Terry to take gold in 11.16 seconds, giving the country its second gold medal at the IAAF World Under 20 Championships in Tampere, Finland.

Terry ended second in 11.19 seconds as Great Britain's Kristal Awuah finished third for bronze in 11.36 seconds.

Terry was the favourite to take gold, as the world leader had run a Championships record of 11.03 seconds in winning her semi-final. However, Williams, who looked quite relaxed in her semi-final, was at her best in the final.

She was put of the blocks very fast as the American tried desperately to gain on her, but to no avail as the Jamaican scored a historic win, the first in the event since Veronica Campbell-Brown's gold in 2000.

Jamaica jumped into second spot in the medal table with four medals: two gold, one silver and one bronze.
