Chadee, Chow star at Assiniboia Downs

WINNIPEG, Manitoba, CMC - Trinidadian Stanley Chadee Jr and Jamaican Chavion Chow both landed two winners on the seven-race card at Assiniboia Downs, as the four-month season continued to wind down here Monday.

Chadee scored with favourite Tough Emblem in race one before returning to win with 2-1 bet Ebadan in race five, while Chow paired with 3-1 choice Shackette to win race four and then guided 3-1 chance Shaded to victory in race seven.

With less than a week left in the campaign, both riders remain down the jockeys standings and out of contention for the title.

Chow lies sixth on 24 wins while Chadee is 11th on 15, both spectators to a tight championship race which sees Barbadian Antonio Whitehall on 37 wins at the top of the standings but just three clear of Trinidadian Prayven Badrie, with veteran Barbadian Renaldo Cumberbatch just one behind in third.

Chadee was first to the winners circle when he combined with five-year-old chestnut gelding Tough Emblem to crush the three-year-olds and upward by 9-1/2 lengths over a mile.

He doubled his tally in a seven-furlong trip, bringing five-year-old bay gelding Ebadan with a strong late run to collar the three-year-olds and upward by 1-1/2 lengths.

Chow, meanwhile, opened his account over seven furlongs by helping the three-year-old chestnut filly Shackette outrun favourite Hey Hey Run Away before producing a stalking ride aboard four-year-old colt Shaded to dismiss the three-year-olds and upward by five lengths, going seven furlongs.
