TOTING 126lb like a colt, SHE’S A MANEATER fought off lightweight ANOTHER BULLET yesterday, scoring her 21st win from 27 starts, her fourth from five outings this season.

The five-year-old supermare stalked the pace being set by HOUDINI’S MAGIC and ANOTHER BULLET in the seven and a half furlong grade one event before attacking approaching the home turn.

Swinging into the lane on the outside of ANOTHER BULLET, who she had easily beaten by four lengths in last month’s None Such Sprint, SHE’S A MANEATER poked her head in front and went a half-length clear two furlongs out.

However, ANOTHER BULLET, a seven-year-old gelding in receipt of 15lb, staged a rally against the rail with leading rider Christopher Mamdeen forcing Omar Walker to rouse SHE’S A MANEATER.

Responding to Walker’s urgings, SHE’S A MANEATER used the tremendous class, which won her a Triple Crown, two Superstakes and a Diamond Mile, among numerous other victories, to inch away by a length and a quarter at the wire, winning in 1:31.3.

Trainer Wayne DaCosta and Omar Walker combined for a second winner on the 10-race card, SERGEANT RECKLESS, who made all in a non-winners-of-four, at six and a half furlongs, hanging on to deny ATLANTIC BLUE a fourth straight win from as many starts.

Ryan Darby also saddled two winners, LAGUNA POINT and UNBREAKABLE, both ridden by apprentice Tevin Foster, who returned to close his three-timer with 22-1 long-shot DIOSA DE ORO, who ran on in the stretch run to sweep past FIFTY CENTS and FLYING MACHINE inside the last half-furlong.

Foster’s three-timer propelled him from eighth to fifth in the jockeys’ standings on 26 winners.

Mamdeen stretched his lead to 17 over fellow apprentice Reyan Lewis, moving to 63 wins with victory astride 9-1 outsider UNCLE FREDDIE in the third event.

Racing continues at Caymanas Park on Saturday with the running of the Jamaica St Leger in which Anthony Nunes’ SUPREME SOUL will try to seal the Triple Crown.
