Clarendon College (CC) moved one step closer to successfully defending their ISSA/WATA daCosta Cup title, as they marched into the finals with a 3-0 win over McGrath High at the Montego Bay Sports Complex on Wednesday.

Despite Jalan Larman being a live wire down the left flank, getting behind the defense line on the separate occasions, McGrath stood tall in defense and kept the game goalless at the break.

CC came out in the second half with more purpose and it took only two minutes for them to break the deadlock, when Sheldon Smart slotted home a spilled save by the McGrath goalkeeper from a free kick.

Smart doubled the lead, netting his second in the 69th minute with a skillful lob shot over the advancing goalkeeper.

Larman eventually reaped the reward for his individual brilliance in the 80th minute, dribbling past three defenders before cutting inside to his right and curling a shot past the outstretched goalkeeper.
