The Jamaica Scorpions' below par showing in the Regional Four Day Championship continued after they were thrashed by the Barbados Pride by 119 runs, inside three days, in their third round game at Sabina Park on Saturday.

The Scorpions had to rely on stubborn second innings runs to avoid defeat in their two opening games against the Trinidad Red Force and the Windward Islands Volcanoes respectively, after being asked to follow on both times.

This time around, they were blown away for 168 in their second innings after being set 288 to win.

Resuming on 179 for 6 on day three, the Barbados Pride added only 37 before they were bowled out for 206.

Nicholson Gordon was the main destroyer, claiming 6 for 45, while Patrick Harty took 3 for 33. Shane Dowrich 73,  and Kyle Mayers 53, were the top run getters for the Pride.

Requiring 288 to win outright, the Scorpions limped to 168 all out. Nkrumah Bonner, who was left not out on 40, was the only Scorpion batsman who showed the technique and patience to bat on a pitch assisting the pacers.

Dennis Smith with 26. was the  next best contributor. Chemar Holder stood tall again, blasting out 6 for 47 to end with a match haul of 11 for 92. Kemar Roach took 2 for 23.

Scores in the game, Barbados Pride 206 and 219, Scorpions 138 and 168.
