The Reggae Girlz suffered a 1-0 defeat to Mexico in their Group 'B' Concacaf Olympic Women's qualifier in Texas on Wednesday.

Renae Cuellar scored the lone goal of the contest in the 36th minute, as the Jamaicans found a tough Mexican defence hard to breach despite a couple of chances.

Khadija 'Bunny' Shaw came closest in the 34th minute, however, her right footed shot from a tight angle came back off the post.

Substitute Tiffany Cameron also had a sniff at goal in the late stages of the game but Mexican keeper Emily Alvarado came up big to keep the Jamaicans at bay.

Kayla McCoy also got an opportunity in the dying moments but she could not turn the ball into the net after the keeper had mishandled a right sided cross.

In the Group 'A' opener, Canada hammered St. Kitts and Nevis 11-0.
