Portmore United's Concacaf Champions League adventure ended Tuesday Night as they were routed 4-0 by Mexican outfit Cruz Azul in the return leg of their round of 16 tie at the Estadio Azetca in Mexico City.

The result means that Cruz Azul advanced to the quarter-finals 6-1 on aggregate, after they came from behind to win the first leg 2-1 last week at the National Stadium.

Oberlin Pineda opened the scoring in the 22nd minute with a brilliant scissor kick from inside the penalty area giving Portmore goalkeeper Kemar Foster no chance. Lucas Passerini doubled the advantage in the 59th minute, while Pablo Ceppelini added another from the penalty spot in the 77th minute. Jonathan Borja completed the scoring on the stroke of full time.

The reigning Red Stripe Premier League champions were under pressure from the opening whistle, having to fend out wave after wave of offensive pressure from Cruz Azul. They only registered four shots in the entire game, none managing to test goalkeeper Guillermo Allison.

Cruz Azul will now face either fellow Mexican club Leon or MLS outfit Los Angeles F.C in the last eight.
