Stephen Francis, one of the founders of MVP Track Club, has declined to comment on reports that four-time World 100 metres champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce has left the club for a second time.

Francis, who has been guiding the career of Fraser-Pryce since she left Wolmer’s Girls’ School, directed The Gleaner to Bruce James, president of the club, when contacted yesterday.

“You have to ask Mr (Bruce) James. He deals with MVP stuff,” he said.

It has been reported that the two-time Olympic champion has been taking instructions from coach Reynaldo Walcott in training sessions away from the MVP group.

When The Gleaner contacted Walcott, he said that he would not comment on the matter.

After her third-place finish behind training partner Elaine Thompson at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games, Fraser-Pryce walked away from the club and joined Walcott, coach at St Elizabeth Technical High, for a brief stint before moving back to the University of Technology-based MVP Track Club.

James could not be reached for comment yesterday.
