JFF told to improve COVID protocols

The Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) has been instructed my the Ministry of Health & Wellness (MOHW) to make further improvements and resubmit their safety protocol document for the restart of local football, following a meeting yesterday.
However, JFF General Secretary, Dalton Wint, welcomed the feedback from the ministry and remained optimistic that the Premier League will get the green light once the adjustments are made.
“The discussions continue. The feedback was very good. The meeting was very cordial and positive,” Wint told The Gleaner.
“We are supposed to provide some updates to both ministries (MOHW and Ministry of Sport). It’s for us to submit by this week information requested back to the Ministry (of Health and Wellness) and for them to look back at it to give a green light for it,” Wint shared. “But they have asked for a comprehensive thing and have made some suggestions and we are just going to get those things done and get back to them,” he explained.
The discussions also included approval for the national senior team training camp and the Waterhouse Round of 16 Concacaf League home game against Arcahaie of Haiti or Verdes of Belize on November 5, and Wint expects a positive outcome for those as well.
“Next week, we will try to get approval for the Premier League but for this week, it’s to get approval for the (national team) camp and the Waterhouse game,” Wint said. “I am positive they will be approved as long as we stick with what is asked of us by the ministries, especially the Ministry of Health & Wellness,” he said.
