ROOKIE went agonisingly close to collaring Saturday’s Twilight 6 payout of $461,429, coming up big with 11th race winner, 24-1 stunner, JAMAI RAJA, among five selections but missed 4-1 shot, WEEKEND JAZZ, in the seventh, despite having three picks in the six-horse field.

Though WEEKEND JAZZ crashed Rookie’s dreams, he starred Saturday’s 11-race card with five winners, which put him in a three-way tie with Indian Flame and Gizzy atop November’s monthly ‘Most Wins’ category.

Rookie is eyeing his first monthly win, going up against Indian Flame, who is intent on nabbing the October-November double. Gizzy will always be a dangerous contender should Dane Nelson continue his good form whereas The Clockman, who has been getting dry tracks for the last two meets, has improved into second with the weather, one winner off the leaders with two racedays to decide the month.
