Vere United FC handed former champions Harbour View FC their first defeat of the season in the Jamaica Premier League (JPL) competition, by registering an exciting 3-2 win in their match at the Captain Horace Burrell Centre of Excellence at the University of the West Indies, Mona on Saturday afternoon.

Tyrese Harrison (sixth minute), Ricardo Dennis (52nd) and Romaine Plummer (78th) were the scorers for Vere United.

Cristojaye Daley netted both goals for Harbour View in the 51st and 55th minutes.

Vere United, who are unbeaten this season, have recorded three victories and two draws so far in the competition.

The victory has moved Vere to the top of the JPL standings on 11 points, while Harbour View remain third on eight points.
