Molynes Utd’s Farquharson off to Slovenia

Molynes United midfielder Fakibi Farquharson has signed a one-year loan deal with Slovenian second division club ND Ilirija until the end of the season.
Molynes United General Manager Eurado Cornwall says he is delighted for Farquharson because this is a good opportunity for him to showcase his talent in Europe.
“I am very happy for him because we want Molynes United to be a manufacturer of youths with talent to go into overseas clubs,” Cornwall said.
“This is part of our mission, and our objective has been met based on the route that we want to take the club, and this is just the start of the process of exporting our players to the overseas market.”
Farquharson, 21, has been playing for Molynes United for three seasons and is a former Hydel High School player.
CHANCE TO ESTABLISH HIMSELF
Farquharson’s agent, Kevin Cowan, said that this is a chance for the player to establish himself in Slovenia’s second division and to move up to the first division.
“It is another player with potential who is now getting into the market in Europe to further develop and maybe take a step to the next level,” Cowan said. “He is a very good player with good size, he has very good technique, and he is a left-footed player. I think he can operate in a variety of positions, and he has a lot of potential to grow and develop in Europe.”
Farquharson will be the third Jamaican playing in Slovenia this season. Ranaldo Biggs recently left St Catherine-based club Racing FC to sign a three-year contract with Slovenian Premier League club NK Domžale, former club of Reggae Boy Shamar Nicholson, who now plays for Charleroi in the Belgian first division.
Reggae Boy Kaheem Parris plies his trade in the Slovenian top league with FC Koper. The former Cavalier and Dinthill Technical player has been in excellent form so far this season, netting three goals in three matches. He has represented the country on four occasions.
