Champs 2022 | Jago's Misha-Jade Samuels books spot in Class Two Girls 1500m final
St Jago’s Misha-Jade Samuels clocked 4:53.90 minutes to move into the final of the Class Two Girls 1500m at the ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys and Girls Athletics Championships at the National Stadium on Tuesday evening.
Samuels, who has been outstanding in the distance races this season, was more than three seconds faster than her opponents in the preliminary round.
Cindy Rose of Holmwood (4:57.23), Taiefa Gowe of Hydel (4:57.36), Rickeisha Simms of Edwin Allen (4:57.51), and Euvia Bennett of St Elizabeth Technical (4:58.34) are the main qualifiers for Wednesday’s final.
Edwin Allen’s Kora Barnett was top in qualifying for the Class Three 1500 final, clocking 4:54.98. She will be challenged for the gold medal by Holmwood’s Andrene Peart (4:58.33), Ashara Frater of Vere (5:00.61), and Jovi Rose of Holmwood (5:02.28).
