Mona beat Camperdown in 4-3 thriller

Mona High defeated Camperdown High 4-3 in their ISSA/Digicel Manning Cup Group F football match at Excelsior High School this afternoon.

A back-and-forth thriller began in the 21st minute as Kshaine Gordon got the opener for Mona thanks to a curling shot from outside the box before Devantae McCrae equalised a minute later. Zhaine Pinnock gave Mona the lead again in the 31st minute before McCrae got his second in the 34th.

Shelton Ricketts gave Camperdown their first lead in the 47th before Pinnock restored parity in the 75th minute. The goal was criticised by Camperdown’s head coach Donovan Lofters who was sent off after running on the field to protest the call. Donahue Mitchell scored the winner for Mona in the 88th minute.

Mona extended their winning streak to seven games and move to 21 points solidifying first place in Group F. Camperdown remain in fourth place with eight points.
