Praught-Leer breaks national indoor mile record

Today, Aisha Praught-Leer ran 4:31.48 minutes at the Bruce Lehane Scarlet and White Invitational at Boston University to break Jamaica’s indoor mile record.
The personal best by Prought-Leer bettered the old national standard of 4:32.33 minutes by Kenya Sinclair, which was done in Gainesville, Florida in 2005. Prought-Leer’s previous best was 4:32.86 minutes in Birmingham eight years ago.
Despite breaking the national record, Praught-Leer finished fourth in the event.
