National striker Khadija Shaw will remain at Manchester City after signing a two-year extension with the club.

The club made the announcement today as it agreed to terms to secure her until 2026. Shaw joined the club in 2021 on a three-year deal which was originally set to expire after next season.

Shaw is coming off a 2022/23 season where she scored 20 goals in 22 league appearances, finishing second in the golden boot standings, two goals shy of Aston Villa's Rachel Daly.

Shaw says she is glad to remain at the club, describing it as the ideal place for her.

"I think here at City is the perfect place for me. I just want to thank our fans for everything, all the love and support they have given me since I arrived," Shaw told the club website.

Shaw was named Concacaf Women's Player of the Year and was named Manchester City's player of the year.
