Jamaica’s Ryiem Forde secured his spot in the semi-finals of the men’s 100 metres after claiming second place in the opening heat of the ongoing World Athletics Championships in Budapest, Hungary.

Forde, who got a decent start from lane five, was chased down and caught by eventual winner Zharnel Hughes of Great Britain, who took the event in 10 seconds, with Forde clocking 10:01.

Nigeria’s Seye Ogunlewe claimed the third automatic qualifying spot with 10:07 seconds.
