#BudaQuest | Antonio Watson secures gold in 400m
Antonio Watson secured a second gold medal for Jamaica today after running a spirited race to claim the men’s 400 metres title at the World Championship in Budapest.
Watson ran a spirited last 60 metres to cross the finish line in 44:22 seconds and beat Great Britain’s Matthew Hudson-Smith, who finished second in a time of 44:31.
United States of America’s Quincy Hall ran a personal best of 44:37 seconds to claim third.
Jamaica’s Sean Bailey finished sixth after clocking 44:96.
Earlier, Danielle Williams claimed Jamaica’s first gold medal of the event by claiming the 100 metres hurdles title.
