Women’s 4x100m relay team finish outside of podium

It was not to be for Jamaica's women's 4x100m relay team as the quartet of Alana Reid, Kemba Nelson, Shashalee Forbes and Tia Clayton placed fifth in the final in a season's best time of 42.29 seconds.
The United States took the gold medal in 41.78 with Great Britain second in 41.85 and Germany third in 41.97.
Without the likes of Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce and Shericka Jackson, who both withdrew from the event due to injury, it proved an uphill task for Jamaica's next generation of sprinters.
