LONDON, England (CMC):

Jamaican superstar forward Khadija Shaw scored her fourth goal of the season to help Manchester City thrash Crystal Palace 3-0 in the Women’s Super League (WSL) here yesterday.

Shaw, City’s all-time leading goalscorer, netted in the 73rd minute to help complete the rout and keep City in the hunt for the WSL title.

City controlled the game from the outset, but had to be patient for the opener as Palace showed resilience in defence.

Midfielder Jess Park eventually took matters into her own hands and broke the deadlock with a long-range strike in the 40th minute.

City then doubled their advantage five minutes into the second half when Jill Roord pounced on a loose ball in the box.

The 27-year-old Shaw then sealed the deal to help extend City’s unbeaten start to the season and moved them three points clear of second-placed Brighton and six points clear of defending champions Chelsea.
