SECOND-ROUND MATCHES in the ISSA Urban Schoolgirl Netball competition, scheduled to begin at the Leila Robinson Courts yesterday, did not get off the ground.

The matches were postponed because of the persistent showers affecting the country.

According to Inter-Secondary Schools Sports Association netball coordinator Joan Walker, along with the bad weather, there was also lightning, which forced the organisation to postpone matches until Friday at the same venue.

The start to the second round was originally set for last week but Topical Storm Rafael left some schools yet to open in time for that resumption.

The games yesterday were scheduled to begin at 2:30 p.m. but will now tip off at 10 a.m.

Matches scheduled for tomorrow are still on but there is a new starting time as well, with 2:30 p.m. games also scheduled for 10 a.m. and the juniors to take the courts first.
