"There is dire need for more to be done for Negril. Our worry is that with the transfer of the funds into the Consolidated Fund, this will become less likely to happen in the near future. We are very concerned."

"Moving the funds to the Consolidated Fund also threatens the marketing abilities of the country ... you also have the JTB and JAMVAT programmes at risk and the small accommodations sector being at risk."

"When people start to lose their businesses, it is going to affect the social fabric of the country as well, and no matter how many police and army personnel you bring into the area, the effects are going to be devastating, and I want to remind the Government that this is an issue.
