"The discovery of a wine is of greater moment than the discovery of a constellation. The universe is too full of stars." said Benjamin Franklin.

Who knew that wine has been around for some seven thousand years? Well, you don't have to be a connoisseur to know a good wine when you sip it. All you have to do is attend the Premier Wine Event in Montego Bay, "Wine 10".

The Rotary Club of Montego Bay will be hosting its annual wine tasting event this Saturday from 7 to 10 p.m. in the Shoppes At Rose Hall, Montego Bay.

Not only will you be able to taste some of the world's finest wines but you also will have an expert tell you what each complements.

Wine expert, Paul Hanworth, of 1876 wines, will answer questions you were previously fearful of asking.

Caribbean Producers Jamaica's Devon Reid will shed light on some fabulous Mondavi secrets. Mondavi said wine "is the only wine that feeds the body, soul and spirit of man and at the same time stimulates the mind".

This is the only event in the west that offers a wide variety of wine tastings. Patrons from last year's event, will surely welcome once again, 1876, CPJ, Lascelles and Ramsons fine array of wines. Newcomer GraceKennedy will be introducing its line for the first time.

To complement the wines, the patrons of Wine 10 will be able to enjoy fabulous foods. VIP meats, Donnie Bunting's new company with partners: Richard Peters, Stan Kelly, and Paul Robertson, will be providing their premier lamb products. What better way to tantalise your taste buds than with nibbles from World famous Scotchies, GraceKennedy Foods and Ramsons. Twisted Kilt and Sugar Mill Restaurant will entice you with their signature dishes.

To indulge the sweet tooth, there will be a live flambé station prepared by Signature Cakes and Desserts, along with the delectable Mobay Chocolate Company, and sumptuous cakes and pastries from Tortuga.

For cheese lovers, Frozen Delights, will be providing a wide array of cheeses.

All proceeds from this year's event have been earmarked for club president Michelle Daswani's project, which is to upgrade and improve the neo-natal and paediatric unit at Cornwall Regional Hospital.

Tickets are available at Fontana Pharmacy, Fairview Texaco, Ironshore Total, Mobay Yacht Club, Jimmy's Supermarket (Holiday Village), Half Moon Village Commissary, Diamond Drugs, Digicel Blue Diamond, Gymkhana or by calling 848-3904 as well as by emailing: rotarywine10@hotmail.com.
