If you plan to be in Florida for summer, Culturama - 2010 Mello-Go-Roun, the much-anticipated annual event celebrating Jamaica's rich cultural heritage, is back in South Florida. Perfectly timed to coincide with Jamaica's 48th independence anniversary, the event will take place on August 1, at the Coral Springs Center for the Arts in Coral Springs, Florida. This is a fitting way to commemorate Jamaica's birthday and honour those who helped lead us to Emancipation.

Traditional dances like the quadrille, dinki mini and jonkanoo will thrill in their colourful masks and costumes, as well as hits like Cherry Oh Baby, Baba Boom Boom, Bam Bam, and the more contemporary Sweet & Dandy will bring back memories. Clonmel Cultural Club, Jamaica Folk Revue, Malachi Smith are also expected to participate.

Head of Jamaica Awareness, Inc. Sidney Roberts, producer of the event, says, "Our mandate is to educate, entertain, and stimulate the minds and hearts of patrons with authentic Caribbean programmes. We partner with the Jamaica Cultural Development Commission to bring the finest in Jamaican tradition."
