WESTERN BUREAU:

The spotlight beamed brightly on Jamaica last weekend when hundreds of stakeholders in the hospitality industry from the United Kingdom and the Americas descended on the island for the 17th staging of the World Travel Awards.

The glitzy event was held at Sandals Whitehouse European Village and Spa in Westmoreland, starting off with a fabulous reception, which equally served as a networking engagement for like-minded industry players.

The reception was followed by the awards ceremony, which saw Jamaica and several locally based companies, as well as others in the Americas, copping coveted prizes.
