Highlights of the JIC's 60th anniversary luncheon and awards ceremony

Members of the shipping industry, trade unions, government officials and representatives on Wednesday, August 29, joined to celebrate the accomplishments of the Joint Industrial Council (JIC) at its diamond anniversary luncheon and awards ceremony. The event recognised the contribution of several individuals to the advancement of industrial relations in the shipping industry. Carlos Urriola Tam, president of the Caribbean Shipping Association and executive vice-president of the Manzanillo International Terminal (MIT), Panama, guest speaker at the event, presented on the progress of the Panama Canal expansion and how the region can position itself for growth through the integration of value-added services and focusing on the core business of trade.

The event was held at the Terra Nova All Suite Hotel.
